First

I'll be using this blog as a sketchpad, a digital one, a place where my drawings go to die, or live forever. Whichever you feel is more appropriate. As few or many people can visit this, since it doesn't really matter, its more for my own organization and encouragement to keep myself drawing everyday, so I can hopefully increase my ability enough. I'm currently teaching myself to draw through different educational books, self teaching, and reading criticisms on my own mistakes that others make, as well as getting my own critiques.

At this time I am currently trying to work on a realistic approach, detailed, proportional drawing as a foundation to go to any other direction, be it drawing from my mind, more detailed drawing from life, or abstraction/animation. I have currently stayed away from trying to develop a particular drawing style, as I feel it will lock me up into that particular style, so I have just tried going straight from not drawing for several years into drawing from life.

I do realize that the path from drawing amateur to a more experienced artist is not short, and never ending in that regard. Thus I critique my own work the hardest, deciding upon what I did wrong and working towards correcting it in future drawings. I'd say patience is the most difficult part of the drawing process.

Daily or more this will be updated with my current sketchbook, after the 11th more often due to becoming unemployed for a short time but before that I will quickly upload all drawing I've done since I started about a month and a half ago.

Enjoy.
